Happy fall! I’m so excited for jacket weather and fall colors. Friends, it’s been a challenging year for us. I am beyond grateful you continue to offer such treasured support, encouragement, and kindness as I work to finish my next book, Westland, the sequel to Essie’s Roses. It’s been an emotional journey returning to Westland and diving into the lives and secrets of Evie, Essie, Delly, and Miss Katie.
My heart and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Challenges all around us, but hope, too, as I pray we come together, as a nation, in love, respect, and peace. A dear friend, in her recent, thoughtful review of Essie’s Roses, reminded me of a prayer Evie and Essie recite in the story:
Lord, keep us safe. To run the race.
Faster still, though all uphill.
Keep us strong when we’re afraid.
Guide us home, today we pray.
Hold our dreams inside Your hands.
Help us do the dreams You planned.
Amen.
Stay strong and never lose hope.
WESTLAND On Location!
Ah, on location writing away. This heavenly spot at the Missouri Botanical Garden inspired a scene in my new novel Westland.
